Dear Dad, didn't seem real til now...God, how I miss you. You were the epitome of every little girls idea of the greatest dad. So funny, so loving, giving, protective and I could go on..The fireplace you built for us at Christmas in Karlsruhe out of cardboard, and painted it perfectly. And that silver tree was awesome. You made Christmas magical. The bike you built for me in Stuttgart, and painted it navy blue. I loved that bike. Or how bout all the times you would bring me a big bowl of ice cream during the parties you and mom would have. I felt so guilty for falling back to sleep, and waking up to the bowl only to find it all melted. The school project on the United states map you had a Hugh hand in. The frustration at times, trying to get me to understand math problems. The Times I would stand and watch u shave. The memories are endless. Dad, I'm so sorry I wasn't there. I am happy I went to see u the nite before I left. And Dad, I will always love u too. Forever and a day. David should be around somewhere up there, please tell him how sorry I am, and that I miss him, and will die loving him, as I will you. My hero, my dad, my friend, I ' 'll love you with the greatest respect and pride of having had the pleasure of you being my dad in this life. Rest dad, and I'll see you in my dreams...Sylvie xo

To My Favorite Uncle, I can still picture you in or uniform waiting for us to get home from school, hiding so you could surprise us, then we would clown around and laugh, singing I've been working on the railroad., You were very special, I still have my little jewelry box from Germany.
