John M. Rosenberg

A lifetime resident of Lockport, John was a graduate of DeSales High School, 1967 and Simmons School of Embalming & Mortuary Science, Syracuse, NY 1969. He served his apprenticeship at Farrell Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, NY, licensed in 1971, and remained there until 1975 at which time he returned home and to Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, where he was the third generation of Rosenberg ’s to join the firm.

In 1986. Mr. Walter A. Kandt retired leaving the business in the hands of John and his father Gerald H. Rosenberg.

John met and married his wife, Linda, in Rochester, in 1972, and raised a family of nine children of which two work with him today.

John is a member of the Erie Niagara Funeral Directors Association, NYSFDA, NFDA, Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight, Lockport Rotary where he served as President in 1990-1991 and 2001-2002, served on the United Way Board and Salvation Army Citizens Advisory Board.




Andrew G. Rosenberg

Andrew G. Rosenberg graduated from Lockport High School Class of 1997 and graduated from SUNY Canton in 2001 earning his Associates degree in Mortuary Science and has been a licensed Funeral Director since 2001. He has worked with his father since 1999 at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, Lockport where he started the fourth generation of the Rosenberg Family. Andy is a member of the Erie Niagara Funeral Directors Association, NYSFDA, and the NFDA.

Andy served as a Commissioner for the Lockport Police Department, and is currently serving on the City of Lockport Zoning Board.  He is a member of the Rotary Club of Lockport, Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly #754, Local Council #319 where is he served as Financial Secretary, and bowled with the Knights of Columbus Bowling League. In addition to these organizations, Andy has been a life long member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Lockport.

Andy enjoys playing and watching hockey, spending time with his wife Heather, daughters Madisen and Kennedy and sons Matthew and Benjamin and doing odd jobs around his home and for his family and friends.



John M. Rosenberg, Jr.

John M. Rosenberg, Jr. joined the staff at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home on April 1, 2008. Born and raised in Lockport John attended Lockport High School graduating in 1995. From there he went to State University of New York at Canton earning his Associates degree in Mortuary Science and has been a licensed funeral director for 10 years. John started out with Pacer Funeral Home, Depew working there for ten years before joining the fourth generation with Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home. He has since relocated to the Lockport area with his wife Jessica and their son, John III. John was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Lockport, the Erie Niagara Funeral Directors Association, NYSFDA, NFDA and enjoyed doing home improvements.  Sadly John passed away December 11, 2012.



Krista A. (Rosenberg) Cain

Krista A. (Rosenberg) Cain graduated from Lockport High School in 1999 and attended Niagara County Community College graduating with an Associates degree in Business, Administrative Assistant graduating in 2002. She served her internship with American Axle, Tonawanda before leaving and joining the fourth generation at her family’s business as the Office Manager. Krista is a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Lockport.  She enjoys running (ran her first half marathon in October 2011), shopping, reading and being with her family and friends.  She and her husband Kevin have two sons, Maximus and Grayson and reside in Lockport.





JOHN K. OLEWNIK

John K. Olewnik joined the Prudden & Kandt team April 2021 after previously working 25 years as a funeral director in the City of Tonawanda.  John also worked for White Chapel Memorial Park in Amherst from 1999 to 2002, first as a grounds keeper and then becoming Superintendent.  He is a 1981 graduate of North Tonawanda High School.  John received an Associates degree in Mortuary Science from Niagara County Community College after completing his mortuary science studies at Simmons School of Mortuary Science, graduating in April 1986, earning the Mu Sigma Alpha award.  After serving his residency at Ulrich Funeral Home in Buffalo, he received his funeral directors license in 1987.  John is a member of the Erie Niagara Funeral Directors Association.

John and his wife, Denise have been part of the Lockport community since moving here in 1991 where they raised their daughter, Samantha.  He and Denise are longtime Christ followers and attend Freedom Church in Lockport.  John loves the outdoors – camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, or just relaxing around the backyard firepit with family and friends.  He also enjoys running and frequently participates in many of the local 5k races. 

MARY SHANNON PERRY

Mary Shannon Perry, Lockport native, started working for Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home on January 21, 2013. A 1981 graduate of DeSales High School she then went on to Buffalo State College graduated in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and went on to Simmons Institute earning her degree in Mortuary Science graduating in 1995 and received her license in 1997. Shannon worked for six years for MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley, NY and also Sutfin Funeral Chapel in Nichols, NY.

Shannon is a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Lockport and enjoys reading, playing cards, watching and playing golf and is a Notre Dame, Miami Dolphins and NY Mets fan.
