Obituary of Jack Reid

Jack Robert Reid passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Lockport on June 30, 1928, he was the son of the late J. Ward, Sr. and Frances Kreutzer Reid.
Jack graduated from Lockport High School in 1946 and went on to the University of Buffalo, where he received a Bachelor's Degree. He also served in the US Army during the Korean War. Jack's entrepreneurial career started in 1946, starting Reid's Custard Stand, he started with his brother, J. Ward Reid, which was the predecessor of Reid's Drive In. Jack is predeceased by his wife, Judith A. Suits Reid, who passed away on October 8, 2011 and his former wife, Mary Ann Pschirrer Reid, who passed away April 25, 2008.
Jack is survived by his children, Thomas (Cheryl) Reid, Richard (Sally) Reid, Sandra (Bud) Whitmore and David (Michele) Reid, all of Lockport; grandfather of Jill, Heidi, Emily, Alex, Andy, Bailey and Brandon Reid, Jaclyn (Jeffrey) Doyle, Bridget (Joseph) Licata and Jonathan (Brittany Palia) Reid, all of Lockport and Christopher (Jennifer) Whitmore of Boynton Beach, FL; and great grandfather of eight. Jack is the uncle of Paul (Katie) Reid and Robert (Lisa); and the brother of the late J. Ward Reid.
Friends may call on Tuesday afternoon from 2-7 PM, in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held on Wednesday at 12 PM. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.

Friends may call on Tuesday afternoon from 2-7 PM.
<h3>Services</h3>
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12 PM at the funeral home.
<h3>Interment</h3>
Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
