I just visited Reid's Drive In today and saw a sign that made me gasp.... "RIP Jack Reid"... I was so shaken I had to walk away. So very sorry to hear this news. Mr. Reid was a man amoung men. He was one of the best of the best. His kind heart and quick humor was such an attribute to his personal style. He was so sweet to my Father when he was alive always walking from behind the cook station to offer a freindly wave and hello... that made my Dad feel important, especially at the end of his life. I don't know how they knew each other, it didn't matter. jackk always went out of his way to make another feel important. I am sure there are hundreds of accounts of kindeness that people can share. Here is one of mine: I remember Jack willingly accepted a hand built Cat Home My husband built for the feral community that settled on his property several years ago. He willingly accepted the food I would drop off and have his workers to feed them every day as long as I provided the food. And later, he helped gather this feral community together to be adopted out and rehabed into homes. A kindess not forgotten. He was the friendly face of Reids... a sweet man that had so much good in him. To Jacks family: I am so sorry the loss of someone so important to you. Please know you are all in my prayers. They just don't make them like Jack anymore. God Bless you all in this sad time of grief. Most Humbly and Sincerely, Sheila Strassburg Lewiston, NY
