Al hired me 16 years ago. We've been to Germany on business trips, spent hundreds of hours in meetings together, and both my professional life and personal life have been heavily influenced by his wisdom and kindness. He always insisted on top quality paint products, and this insistence has propelled Behr Paint to the top of the Consumer Reports charts. I am deeply sorry about the loss of Al Waite, lover of hamburgers and steak, a man with excellent memory, a mentor and a friend. My sincerest condolences go out to his family, and my thoughts and hopes are for them right now. Al - it has been an honor.

Al has always been an outstanding friend and mentor over the past 30 years we have known each other. He was great to work with at Pratt and Lambert. Once a P&L'er you will always be. My deepest sympathy for the family, but Al would want us all to celebrate his life and what he gave to all of us. As I sit hear writting thinking about all the Al stories I have it makes me laugh at the good and bad times we have had over the past 30 years.

I've been blessed with the pleasure and honor of working closely with Al for the past 25 years. He gave me my first opportunity in coatings and was an outstanding mentor, supporter and personal friend. Al's passion for coatings technology and commitment to excellence are unmatched by anyone I have ever met. When he joined Behr, Al's challenge was to develop the best architectural paints and create a world class technical team to support them. Al hit home runs on both counts. As a consultant, he enjoyed the opportunity to contribute and remain involved in our projects. Even more so, he loved to observe the growth and development of the R&D staff he created. Al possessed an incredible memory, easily recalling details of projects 20 years past. I may not recall the same details, but I do remember his laughter and passion for doing what he loved. Without question, Al has been a tremendous influence on me. One that I will never forget. Al, you will be missed. With Deepest Sympathy, Mark Rymarczyk

It is with sadness that I received this news. I regretted that I wasn't able to respond to Al's email asking how am I doing in my new position. He was such a caring person and altho' I barely see him, his caring thoughts were always among his friends. "You will be missed AL !" May GOD's peace and comfort be with the Waite family at this difficult time !!
