Obituary of Howard Reynolds

Howard W. Reynolds passed away April 24, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House. Born September 5, 1919 in Wilson he was the son of Charles P. and Katherine (Fanning) Reynolds. Howard served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946 during WW II. While in service he was awarded the American Theatre Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. Upon his discharge Howard worked for the City of Lockport where he was a fireman for 33 years retiring in 1980. He was a member of the IAAF #963, Ancient Order of Hibernians, VFW Post 2535, and the American Legion B. Leo Dolan Post 410. Howard enjoyed gardening and was also well known for being a vegetable grower, selling to local restaurants. He was predeceased by his wife Marion L. (Randall) Reynolds on November 9, 1998. Howard was the father of the late Terry Reynolds, William Reynolds, and Patrick Reynolds. He is the father-in-law of Julia "Julie" Reynolds of Lockport and grandfather of Scott (Barbara) Reynolds, Patrick Reynolds, Timothy Reynolds all of Lockport, and Michael (Danielle) Reynolds of Levittown, PA; great grandfather of four. Howard was predeceased by his nine siblings Charles Reynolds, Donald Reynolds, Virginia Babcock, Peggy Schultz, Donna LaSpada, Nell Heenan, Helen Suito, Betty Calasanti, and Ceal Bascom. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friend Carol Plueckhahn. Relatives and friends may call Sunday 2-7 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Newfane. Donations to Niagara Hospice or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
