Obituary of Gene E. Coumont

Gene E. “Rudy” Coumont passed away January 29, 2024 in Niagara Hospice House.  Born September 9, 1944 in Lockport he was the son of Rudolph and Mildred (Erhart) Coumont.  He served in the US Coast Guard from 1962-1966 and worked for Harrison Radiator Div of GM where he retired as a Supervisor.  After retirement he drove school bus for Ridge Road Express for 20 years.  He was a life member of the Lockport Elks Lodge. 

Rudy is survived by his wife of 55 years Judy A. (Cronkhite) Coumont; children Michael Coumont and Tamara (Roger) Haseley; grandchildren Tyler (Mallory Buzyniski) Haseley, Connor (Alexandra Hutchinson) Haseley, and Maddison Coumont; also several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sister Arlene Speer.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Feb. 1^st from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 2^nd at 10 AM.  Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
