My condolences to your family. As Pastor Kevin said Charlie was the salt of the earth. Recently I think of him carrying a large ham into church to donate to our Community Dinner in December. I think of Charlie bringing his wife Joan to church in her later years. She was always dressed up so pretty like she always had. They had a blessed life together. Recently he was excited about the new baby born in his family. God bless

Guy and I send our deepest condolences to the family of Charlie.
Charlie refinished all of our floors in our first home (a 1950's split level, he called a gold mind of floors)years later (when he was suppose to be retired) he fixed, sanded and refinished our dining floors in our 1800s farm house. Charlie was the best in the field when it came to flooring! He literally took apart a section of the floor in our dining room so he could match the pattern exactly as he filled in the missing space with flooring we found at a salvage yard. Charlie refinished those floors 20 years ago and they still look great! He would stop by and visit now and then when he was in the area fishing or going for a ride with his late wife.
I am originally from Lockport and graduated in 1980 with one of his sons. Charlie asked me if I knew him and when I said "no"he would laugh and say that is because he was never there. He told me that his son would leave to go to school but always skipped out. Charlie said that t he would get a call from the school asking where his son was quite often. . He loved to tell me that story because he said his son ended up being quite successful and he was very proud of him, :).
Sending you prayers and warmest thoughts,
Sue (Fritz ) Smith and Guy Smith .
