Obituary of Helen L. Loiars
Helen Krull Loiars, Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on January 1, 2024 in Bowling Green, KY. She was born to Philip and Rosa (Schendel) Krull in Tonawanda, NY on Mother’s Day 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2012, with whom she is thrilled to be reunited.
Helen is survived by children: Doreen of Arlington, VA, Lauri (Mike) Lee, of Mount Juliet, TN, Joseph (Cheryll) of Orange City, FL, John (Sarah) of Bowling Green, KY; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; her sister Dorothy Bald as well as many nieces and nephews.
Helen was the eighth of nine Krull children from Clarence, NY. She is pre-deceased by siblings: Clarence (Mildred) Krull, Lydia (Floyd) Fiegl, Harold (Irene) Krull, George (Laura) Krull, Gertrude (Herb) Matheis, Frances (Harry) Bachman, Alice (Robert) Bugenhagen.
Helen attended a one room school house in Clarence. She worked as a cosmetician at Jays in the 50’s, was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young and worked in real estate in the 70’s. She earned her GED at the age of 69. Helen used her extraordinary talents to restore, reuse and sell all types of furniture and goods. She loved gardening, crocheting and estate sales. Her creativity, artistic eye, tenacious hard work and generous, sweet trusting heart was shared with all who knew her. She was blessed to have been surrounded by family her last 3 years.
Friends may call on Friday, January 12th 2-5 pm at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where services will immediately follow at 5 PM.
