Obituary of Joseph A. Morello
Joseph A. Morello passed away very suddenly, October 3rd, 2023, at Rochester General Hospital. Born December 14th, 1966, in Lockport, New York, he is the son of Charles and Diana (Hale) Morello. Joseph was a 1985 graduate of Lockport Senior High School. Joe served the City of Lockport Fire Department from May 28, 1989 through May 30, 2021. He was a Fireman and Advanced Level EMT, promoted to Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, and ultimately achieved the rank of Assistant Fire Chief. Joe retired May 30, 2021, after 32 years.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman. From his passion for the big buck during all aspects of hunting season (bow, rifle, black powder, crossbow), to his love for cycling whether road or mountain, and his connection to the great outdoors, especially canoe camping in the Adirondacks, he enjoyed life, and lived his life to the fullest.
Besides his parents Joe is also survived by his loving wife, Marnie (Housler) Morello whom he married on August 15, 2009; his cherished son Joseph “Jojo” Morello; beloved brother Chuck, and wife, Selena Morello, and Joe’s nephews, Angelo, and Bode Morello; his dear Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Paul Oates, Cousins Angela (Pat) Long, Jacqui (Rick) Conklin, Linda (Bob) Hickman, Rob (Judy) Dockery, the brotherhood of his fellow Fireman, and cherished close friends.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday, Oct. 8th,from 2:00-5 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 9 at 11 AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Inurnment to follow at a later date. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
