Obituary of Gwen G. Noonan
God welcomed our beloved Gwen G. Noonan home on August 14, 2023. Born May 3, 1943, in Amherst, NY she was the daughter of the late Ellery and Marie (Jacobson) Gibbs. Gwen attended Starpoint Schools where she met the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Patrick Noonan. They were married October 24, 1964 in North Tonawanda, NY and have been married for 58 years. They moved to Lockport NY where they raised their 5 children. Gwen took much pride in being a homemaker, providing her children with memorable experiences growing up. Playing outside, hanging clothes on the clothesline, baking homemade bread, reading books, sewing doll clothes and knitting sweaters and hats for her kids, along with weekly trips to the library were just a few of her special times with her children. Yearly camping trips to the 1000 Islands and the Adirondack’s were some of her fondest family memories. Gwen had a fun loving personality and was a big Buffalo Bills fan.
The door to Gwen’s heart was always open to all. Her soft touch and warm hug would fill you with comfort and genuine love. Her very existence was fueled on love, compassion and family. She was spiritual, adventurous, uplifting and loved being outdoors. In our busy lives she had the ability to slow time so you could live in the moment and notice life’s simple treasures that she would eagerly share with you. She undoubtedly had a gift to show you the value in the simple joys of life. If you were fortunate enough to know Gwen, you felt her love in every one of her hugs and kindness in every smile she gave you. She was a genuinely beautiful soul who deeply touched your heart. She loved God, her country and most of all her family.
Gwen is survived by her devoted husband Patrick Noonan; five children Sean (Kathy) Noonan, Beth (James) Keleher, Brian (Tonishea) Noonan, Eric (Shannon) Noonan, and Jennifer (Dan Biggie) Noonan; nine grandchildren Bailee, Katherine, Sage, Charlie, Jack, Julia, Kara, Shane, and Bella; two great-granddaughters Evelyn and Novallie; sister Holly (David) Dempster; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her dear brother Ricky Gibbs.
