Is is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Monica. Monica worked for me as Administrative Assistant at the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Health Care Facility for over 30 years. During that time Monica always exemplified the highest work ethic and always did her best to help the facility to run smoothly. Whether work related or helping in whatever other jobs needed to be done, Monica was always the first to volunteer. May Monica Rest In Peace.

It was my privilege to train at the Oddfellow & Rebekah Nursing Home in the late 1980's. Monica was an ever present person within the facility who got to know everyone and who treated all who came in with notable respect. She was welcoming and warm. She never grew impatient even in the presence of individuals with obvious confusion and disorientation. In conversations during my time there, I soon learned that she had assisted me previously in a position with the UB Bookstores. At the time, Monica was also very involved in the liturgical and spiritual life of St. Bridget's parish in Newfane where Rev. Msgr. Robert Mack was pastor. Monica Barrett was a true example of Christian charity. She approached everyone, residents, staff, visitors, contractors, auditors, academics and NYS authorities with the same regard and dignity. In my six months at Oddfellows, I learned a great deal from observing her approach. She stands out as one of the kindest and most thoughtful individuals I have ever known. Be assured of my thoughts and prayers as family and friends adjust to her changed presence among us. Monica's presence within our shared lives is a gift from God.

Dear Family,
Both my mother, Margaret Stark, and myself worked at Odd Fellows for many years... so many memories made! Mom remained very good friends with Monica with frequent telephone calls and lunch dates. Mom passed away last year 4/21/22 and she was the first one I thought to call when I heard that Monica had passed. Praise be to God for His indescribable gift... of Eternal Life.
With comfort and blessings,
Tiffany Marshall-Stark
