Obituary of Elva J. Nelson

Elva J. Nelson passed away March 14, 2023 in Lockport Rehabilitation.  Born January 23, 1930 in Carnegie, PA she was the daughter of Herbert C. and Dorothy E. (Dean) Wolstoncroft, Sr.  Elva worked for Harrison Radiator where she was a secretary before working at Montgomery Ward in the jewelry department where she was the manager.  She was an active member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lockport for 70 years and was a foster mother for infants and young children.  Elva enjoyed animals, collecting antiques from around her childhood era, collecting fossils, stamps, sewing, visiting her Pennsylvania family, and especially enjoyed being around her own family.

Elva is survived by her husband of 70 years, Roger G. Nelson; children Jeffrey P. Nelson and Allison J. (Ron Oliver) Nelson; granddaughters Jenessa (AJ Dickinson III) Nelson and Jessica (Ryan Lyndsey) Nelson; great grandchildren AJ Dickinson IV and Zavon Lyndsey; also several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her siblings Herbert C. Wolstoncroft Jr., Charles D. Wolstoncroft Sr., and Mary Dexler.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, March 20th from 12-2 PM with services following at 2 PM all in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
