Pam and Family, I am very sorry for your loss. Mike was an amazing boss, mentor and friend. I am greatful everyday that I had the privilege of knowing him and working side by side with him for his entire career with First Niagara Bank. He is the reason why I am where I am today with the company. His drive and passion, even through his illness, inspired me to work harder each and everyday. He will truly be missed. The world has lost a true Angel. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Jessica Johnson

Pam, Michael Jr. and Jason and The Kenny Family- First Niagara lost one of their great assets this week. Only Mike would be calling us from the hospital, conference calling on his way home from Cleveland with his “chauffeur”. His dedication to our success was unending. Mike always kept me guessing. He'd have this quiet plan that he didn't always share until looking back I would ask “how did we get here”? He would just smile that big grin! He saw so much in me that I didn't see in myself and pushed me to get there, knowing all along I could. I would not be where I am if it were not for Mike Kenny and I will be forever grateful to him. He made our branches great places to work, he made us want to work for him and we loved "playing in the sandbox" everyday!. Mike loved you all so much and was very proud of your accomplishments. He loved to share stories and pictures about you. Mike went from my boss, to my friend. Thank you for sharing Mike Kenny with us, he truly will be missed. Tammy Dodge

To Mike's family - my deepest sympathy to all of you. Mike was truly an inspiration to many here at FNFG and I always enjoyed our many conversations. We constantly swapped "favors" with a joke of "what is this going to cost me!". Hold on to your memories, I know I will. - Carol.

I wanted to let your family know Mike had a huge influence on me personally and my career. I worked under him at First Niagara from late 2007 to January 2009 when he helped me move to the next leg of my career as a manager. I learned so much from him and I credit allot of my success as a manager from the time I spent with him. He was a great mentor, leader, and an all around genuinely great person. He will be missed!!!

To the family of Mike Kenny- I had the pleasure of working with Mike at the Northtown KeyBank. It was my first job in the banking industry after being in retail for 25 years. Mike took me under his wings and was able to teach and mentor me about all the aspects of banking. His knowledge and patience helped me in my advancement at KeyBank. Without his help, I do not know where I'd be today. It is comforting to know that when I worked with Mike, his family always came first. He would talk fondly about his wife Pam and his sons, but one of his proudest moments came when his first grandchild was born. Mike was a wonderful family man as well as one of the best bankers in the industry. He will be missed by all that knew him. My deepest sympathy to the entire family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly, Paula Portera-Mietus

Dear Pam & Family: I am sorry for your loss. Mike was an amazing individual. He was a true leader and an inspiration to many, including me. Mike saw potential in people even when they did not see it in themselves. He believed and had faith in us even when we doubted ourselves. Mike saw what talent people brought and helped us develop and use it. He taught us many things about work and life through his fun and amazing stories. You did not realize until after the story that he had a message in there to help guide you without telling you what to do. I will never forget some of the little things: How he worked endlessly for his clients. How happy he was when he spoke of Pam he would always say, "My beautiful bride of 30 + years" The way he would say it is all about Mike Kenny when you know it never was about him he always put himself last. How proud he was of his sons. He talked about them all the time. And how he had to find the perfect Christmas gift for them whether it was a coffee cup or a picture of him with the chicken! He was more than a boss he was a mentor and a friend. I will truly miss him and his laughter. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Mike and I were both First Niagara employees but also long time former KeyCorp employees. As a result we formed a very fast friendship. Mike was always on the lookout for that next opportunity and could find a way to make any relationship work. His 'Old School' approach to business was simple..outwork everyone and make friends. He was truly one of a kind. My heartfelt condolences to all of the Kenny family.
