Obituary of Harold J. Ruppert

Harold J. Ruppert from the Town of Pendleton passed away July 17, 2022. He was born August 13, 1927 to Helen (Menard) and Harold Ruppert of Buffalo, New York. He is survived by his beloved wife for over 67 years, Jane E. (MacLachlan) Ruppert.  Loving father of Marcia (Glenn) Huebel, Diane (Timothy) Eades, Mark (Anne) Ruppert and Nancy (Greg) Reeds.  Devoted grandfather of Katie (Hans) Fiene, Mark (Elizabeth) Huebel, James (Samantha) Eades, Ericka Eades, Matthew (Rachael) Ruppert, Benjamin (Sarah) Ruppert, Harrison Reeds and Allie Reeds and four great grandchildren.  

Hal was the Director of Physical Education and Athletics at Starpoint Central School from September 1958 to June 1989.  His successful coaching career included:  Varsity Cross County, 5 league and 3 section championships, Varsity Boys Basketball 3 league and 1 section championship, Varsity Baseball 8 section championships.  He was instrumental in starting the Pendleton Recreation program.  He had a strong faith and was a past elder and usher at his church St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda, NY.

Hal enjoyed spending time with his family, going to his grandchildren's events and talking about his coaching days.  He was a highly respected man to his players and all who met him.  

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 20^th from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21^st at 10 AM in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY 14120.  Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Church would be appreciated.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
