To the Lynch Family-- Deepest condolences from New Mexico for the passing of Jim. Jim Lynch=Pontillo's (and Lock City) and both will be wonderful legacies to one who helped provide so many tasty meals here, in Lockport, Batavia, and Pittsford, and much generosity through sponsorships.

I started working for Jim and Mike Nov 20th 1964, a week after I turned 16. Mike retired shortly thereafter. Jim was one of the most influential people in my entire life. I learned so much from him. Within a year he allowed me and trusted me enough to run Pontillo's so he could get a break every now and then. It was a hell of a learning experience.
It was good work and a lot of fun too. After the football and basketball games (Both LSHS and DeSales) Pontillo's was a packed house. I was working the night LSHS won the basketball championship in 65. Lockport was going crazy that night. Cars up and down Main street till 3 AM. Of course we stayed open till then too. Jim's Idea.
I worked there till Sept 67 when I went away to college.
A few years later while in Vietnam I received a post card from Lockport. That old picture taken from the bridge up Main Street. One sentence on it. "How your tan coming along". Signed Jim. His sense of humor was legendary.
We remained good friends over the years. Every time I would visit Lockport I'd stop down to see him. My brother worked for him the last few years of his life too.
A Great man, a truly Great man. One of the best I've ever known.
Thank you Jim, You brought an awful lot of good to an awful lot of people here in little ole Lockport New York. A part of you resides in my very soul. Again, Thank you. Dr. Kenneth R. Sutter II

Brad,
My condolences go out to you and your siblings on the passing of your Dad. He was a great guy that I remember from Pontillo's Pizza, as well as the YMCA and Skate land Roller Ring. Just a good all around guy that always had a smile and greeting for me whenever we'd see one another. He will be missed.

I remember the camaraderie and banter with customers and employee's. Mr Lynch used to joke around with me as I kneaded the doe...To much fun as I reminisce, the seafood bar after work... woo hoo! I remember Jimmy's laugh and his unwavering commitment hard work and no tolerance for BS. We were serious about keeping the shop clean. We knew he expected our best and we always worked hard to do our best for him. Greg, Brad, Todd & Anita & loved Ones. My Heart panged when Greg confirmed this morning. I will pray for your family.

Sorry to hear this in a way. He was struggling so these last few years. We've been friends for 70 years. I stopped at the nursing home last Fall before I came South and had a one way conversation with limited eye contact but when I got up and said I would be leaving, he said "See you later Jim". We'll have a Mass said here when the Churches re-open. Doc

Spent alot of my youth, at the walnut street shop. Best pizza and subs, ever. He was always throwing flour at the shield, like it was going get your face, when you would watch him make the crust. He did that, to all the kids.....GREAT Man!

I remember folding many boxes for Pontillo's and when I thought I was done he would say "hey, what do you think you are doing? You are only half done" and you never said no. When we headed to Cleveland to visit our children they would say don't forget to bring the pizza.
You have brought joy and the love of your pizza to me, others and have continued on into the next generations.
RIP - Jim

So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was always a great guy. I still remember him sitting me on top of the pizza ovens! I was five when Jim and my dad opened Pontillo’s on cottage street so that was a few years ago! I’m glad I got to see him at Absolut Care and feel bad because of this virus I can’t say good bye and give all of you my deepest sympathies.

Jimmy Lynch otherwise known as "El Supremo" The Boss!
Great man to talk with and work for. Enjoyed seeing Jimmy in the later years standing around the shop. Whenever I traveled back to Lockport it was pizza time. Hoping Jimmy was at the shop just hear a joke or reminisce about the old days. Thoughts and prayers to Carol and the Lynch Mob.
