Obituary of Matthew H. Kiff
Matthew H. Kiff passed away on Friday January 18, 2019, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Lockport on March 2, 1967, he was the son of Christine (Phil) Gawron and the late Robert Kiff. Matt was a Corrections Officer for 17 years, retiring in 2017 from the NYSDOC, Albion, NY. He enjoyed hunting and working on his 1975 Pontiac Firebird. He played football for the Batavia Bandits and was a member of the S. Lockport and Rapids Volunteer Fire Companies, the NYSCOPBA and the Rapids Loose Lugnuts.
Beside his mother, Matt is survived by his wife Marcia (nee Myers) Kiff, his children Alyssa (Levi) Skelton, Lauren (Luke) Pavlic, Morgan (Tyler) Kiff and Jacob Kiff; grandfather of Madden Skelton, Ava Skelton Teagan Tilebein and Colson Pavlic. Brother of Michael (Kerri) Kiff, Marjorie (Frank) Ott, Amy (Joseph) Noeson, Sheri (Tim) Glaser and Phil Gawron Jr. Matt was the brother in-law of Judy (William) Nye, and Dennis (Jewel) Myers. He is also survived by his Aunt and Uncle James and Dorial Donner and several, nieces, nephews. Beside his father Matt is also predeceased by his mother in-law Joyce Myers.
Friends may call on Monday January 21st 3-7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 22nd at 10 AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
