I send my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Mary. I work at Elderwood and grew very fond of Mary as I think we all did. She was the most kindest woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.Mary greeted everyone with a beautiful smile and honestly made my day quite a few times. She would always find a way to make you smile, even on your worst day. "Hello beautiful!", "Come sit with us!", "Thank you for everything you do for us!" It really means a lot to hear those words. I truly believe she knew that. Her passing was sudden for us all and very difficult. In the environment we work in you learn to "adjust" to certain things like this. It's never easy, it's just something we have to deal with. Mary is someone who I believe will never be "forgotten" by any of us.
This is a little story about Mary that i will never forget. My mother told me that she knew my great-grandmother who also was named Mary. So I asked her one day and boy did her face light up! She said "Oh my goodness! I knew I liked you! Mary was my best friend! She kissed and held my hand for a long time and it made me feel so good! But I had to get back to work! I can hardly remember my great-grandmother but Mary had stories! She loved everyone instantly. Like an Angel on Earth. I say that because, I've never seen anyone light up a room and make so many people smile at the same time , everyday all day. Even when she wasn't feeling well, she was more worried about you helping her and "bothering" you. She was a very special person and we will always keep her dear to our hearts.
I will keep you all in my prayers in this difficult time.
