Robert L. "Goose" Gray passed away on Wednesday February 14, 2018 in Newfane Rehab and Health Care Facility. Born in Worcester, MA, he was the son of the late Fletcher and Ethel Dickie Gray. Goose worked at the Lockport YMCA and Camp Kenan as an outreach counselor at various schools. Goose was over 150 years old, enjoyed "singing songs, swapping stories and telling lies". He ran in 30 marathons including five Boston Marathons, proudly carried the Olympic Torch through Lockport in 1996, bicycled around Lake Ontario five times, traveled to India, and enjoyed hiking and canoeing. He was the leader for many years of Gray-Y, was a member of Toastmasters, was awarded the Key to the City of Lockport, was a lifetime member of the Lockport PTA, and was a renowned storyteller. Goose was the brother of Betty Gray and Marjorie (Dean) Ellsworth and was predeceased by his brother. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
