Ellen will always be "Mrs. Fitzgerald' to me. My brother Jeff and I were so fortunate to have met Mike on our first day of Kidergarden. That's, of course, when we first met Mrs. Fitzgerald. We were part of that small crew of kids in the neighborhood that all hung out with Mike and always received a little extra attention from her. One year, when the Fitzgerald's temporarily ran out of candy during Holloween, we came upon their front door to find several kids waiting for the candy to arrive from the store (no joke). Mrs Fitzgerald invited us in for Cake while others waited outside. She was a great neighbor. She was a great Den Mother...and always finished every meeting with a hearty bowl of buttery popcorn! I remember her as a substitute teacher as well. Thank you, Mrs. Fitzgerald, from the bottom of my heart.
