To the entire Schaffert family ... I was talking to my uncle Donnie tonight and i actually asked him how Bob Schaffert was doing and he told me of his passing. I will always remember your dad as a very nice, kind and quiet person .... who took great care of your mom after she became wheelchair bound. You were lucky to have the parents you had (your mom was very sweet too) who set a good example for you and why you are all such darn good people. My sincere condolence... Fondly, David

Another of the "Greatest Generation" gone. Fabian was a life member at our local Post 2535 here in Lockport and though he wasn't active, he was still one of us. We will drape our Charter for a period of mourning for our lost comrade. Rest in Pease sailor. Officers and members of Post 2535 Daniel Marsh Post Chaplain
