Obituary of Willie Haynes

Willie Haynes was called home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2010 at Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle, NY after long battle with cancer. Born June 16,1967 in Lockport to Virgia B. Phillips of Lockport and Willie Revere of Atlanta, GA.
Survived by his wife, Yokie Konah-Haynes and a loving father of Amber Nicole, Asia Marie, and Shanelle. Four siblings: Cynthia of Texas, David (Christine) of Worcester, MA and Kevin (Sherri)of Boston, MA, and Angela of Lockport and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
Willie graduated from Lockport Senior High School in 1985 where he excelled academically and athletically. With his perseverance, tenacity, focus and strong work ethic, he received numerous awards and recognition for his love of basketball. Upon graduation, he received a four year basketball scholarship to Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ where he excelled at the collegiate level as a dedicated student athlete. He became a member of the PHI BETA SIGMA Fraternity Inc. in the Local Ferocious Xi Tau Chapter in the spring of 1988. Will graduated in 1989 and went on to Seton Hall to pursue his Law Degree. In 1992, he was given the tremendous honor of being inducted into The Hall Of Fame at Saint Peter's College. Another milestone to add to his list of accomplishments, Willie will be inducted into the Hall Of Fame at Lockport High School on Sept 24, 2010. He was a legal professional at Schiff-Harding, LLP in New York City. Willie was an active member of Living Rock Christian Center.
Relatives and friends may call Monday 7-9pm at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home,242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11am at Friendship Baptist Church,5652 Saunders Settlement Road, Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
