Ruth Marie (Meier) Kandt, 96, wife of the late Walter A. Kandt, died Tuesday, May 10, in Parker, Colo. She was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Lockport, N.Y., the daughter of Herman and Clara (Janke) Meier. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport. She is survived by daughters Barbara Kandt of Bellevue, Ky., Karen (Mark) Meyer of Parker, Colo., and Susan Kandt of Bellevue, Ky., by sons Robert (Catherine) Kandt of Camarillo, Calif., and Charles (LuAnn) Kandt of Port Orange, Fla., by grandchildren Stephanie (Jory) Long of Keystone, Colo., Kimberly Meyer of New York, Kate (Dan) Migala of Chicago, Laura Hughes (Bill Julin III) of Pittsburgh, Sara (Matt) Galyon of Louisville, Ky., Kristin Hughes of Lexington, Ky., Carrie Kandt of Parker, Colo., Claire Hughes of Berkeley, Calif., Nicki Kandt of Port Orange, Fla., and Benjamin Kandt of Lexington, Ky., by great-grandchildren Mya Byrd, Asher Galyon, Jacob Julin, Abby Long and William Migala and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service Saturday, May 14th at 1 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, Lockport. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
