On behalf of Biker Church in Tonawanda:
We considered Doug part of our family & will miss him.
When he was able to attend Biker Church, occasionally one of the children would ask "Is that Santa Claus?"
May God bless you all with happy memories as you mourn your loss of a good man.

On behalf of the American Legion Wheatfield Post 1415, we would like to express our sympathies to Doug's family. While Doug has taken from us a little piece of each of our hearts, he has left us with much more by his service to his country, to the Legion, and to his family. We are grateful for the many pleasant memories he has left behind and the friendship and leadership he has provided. May he rest in peace.

Doug Jr.: Dick and I send our heartfelt sympathy to all members of your family. The happiness I was feeling on my birthday came to a crashing end when I saw your Aunt Sharon's "post" on Facebook. How ironic that it would be Sharon once again telling me of the sudden passing of one of your parents, as she was the one to call me about your mother - my friend, my maid of honor, my sister past president of the Eagles auxiliary. Your dad was always there when we needed a small job done at the house and before your wedding when he was ill Dick made sure he went to see him. Your parents were a part of our lives as we watched you grow to the man you are. Please know we are thinking of all your family, as we know others, and we grieve with you.
Love,
Linda & Dick Groves
