Obituary of Forrest Maxwell

Forrest Maxwell passed away May 18, 2010 in Beechwood Health Care Facility. Born December 5, 1910 in Amherst, NY he was the son of William and Sarah (Snell) Maxwell. Forrest served in the US Army during in WW II. He was a 1930 graduate from Lockport High School and a 1934 graduate from Buffalo State earning his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts. Forrest worked for Mount View Health Care Facility for 35 years retiring in 1972. He was a member of the National and Buffalo Basha and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, photography and wildlife, especially birds. Forrest will always be remembered for his sense of humor, ingenuity, his multitude of friends and his revolving Christmas tree, to know him was to love him.
Forrest was predeceased by his wife Annie (Swan) Maxwell in 1967, brother, Robert Maxwell, sister, Ruth Maxwell and niece, Janet Meyers. He is survived by his three nieces Lois (late Russell) Macaluso, Sharon (Philip) Haendiges both of East Amherst, Ruth (late Harold) Oakes of Pendleton and his nephew William Maxwell of East Amherst. Forrest is also survived by 12 great nieces and nephews, 19 great-great nieces and nephews and 4 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Bear Ridge Cemetery, Pendleton.
