Dear Lytle family, My husband, Ira and I were very sorry to hear that you lost your father. I met your father and your mother several times over the years and they were lovely people. My late father, Frank Schell, son of Frances Bale Schell, was your father's first cousin. They were very close in age and they were close as children. I have a memory of my father telling me that he and Bill once built a raft up in the Bronx and took it out on the Harlem River. I believe that it did not float for very long. Your mother and father made the trip to Staten Island for my mother's funeral. That was an incredibly devastating time for Dad but I'll never forget the expression on his face when he saw his cousin, Bill, arrive. Your parents kindness brought him great comfort and even joy on a very terrible day and I'll always be grateful to them. Your long lost but loving cousin. Edith
