Obituary of Robert Woock
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Born of Francis Anthony and Mary Frances (nee Mc Govern) Woock on the birthdate of his mother, 15 May 1928, Robert Francis Woock succumbed this life on the evening of Wednesday, 8 April 2009. Bob loved his family and clearly demonstrated such: he so diligently cared for his father unto his death and his mother for many years to hers. He imparted a strong love of the written word and intellectual pursuit to his nephews and nieces, for which their gratitude has been rendered. As he loved medicine and cared for others, Bob obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and was known for his work at Lockport Memorial Hospital. He left his indelible mark at the Lockport Public Library as well, often spending more hours of the day there than at his home. Additionally, Bob derived great joy in portraying Saint Nicholas to family and friends at Christmas.
We struggle to give Bob the tribute he so deserves as he imparts his remains to the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and those who are able to benefit from his organ donations. His siblings survive him: Donald (Sally) Woock, Joan (Martin Eugene) Lardner, in addition to nine nephews and nieces for whom he dearly loved and cared. We are grateful he taught us to do the same.
Bob's family looks forward to memorializing him with you at a mass on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's RC Church, 76 Church St., Lockport. As he so loved books, you may wish to honour Bob in a contribution to the Lockport Public Library.
