Obituary of Charles Gray

Charles W. "Charlie" Gray passed away unexpectedly February 6,2009. Born June 18th, 1948 in Glasgow, Scotland he was the son of Charles M. and Margaret "Pearl" Perston Gray. "Charlie" was a graduate of Lockport High School. He worked at Lerch and Daly Clothiers Inc., starting while he was in high school working his way up to president. After he closed the store he went to work for S & K Men store in the Galleria Mall. Very active in local civic organizations he was Past President of Lockport Rotary Club,
member of the Lockport Business Association. He was a huge supporter of Downtown Lockport. When ever any group or club needed help, "Charlie" was there for them. He is survived by his daughters; Lyndsay (Rob) Quiggle of Syracuse and Caryn (Craig) Czajka; grandfather of Mercedes and Alexis Czajka. He is also survived by his sisters Edwina (William) Ruffner of Niagara Falls, Etta (Wes) Arnold of Lockport and Maudie (James) Darrah of California and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials to the Rotary Foundation c/o Lockport Rotary Club, PO Box 1099, Lockport, NY 14095-1099 or the Lockport Business Association, 16 Market Street, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
