Lois Gardell Obituary

Lois Gardell passed away April 20, 2010 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born in 1915 in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of Rev. Maximillian and Mary Tosetto. She graduated from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL with a degree in Fine Arts, piano major. Lois played on numerous classical recitals, including a 1948 performance with the Lockport Symphony Orchestra at which she played the Concerto No. 2 in C Minor by Rachmaninoff. She also played flute with the Carborundum band in Niagara Falls. Lois taught piano in Lockport from 1947 until the mid 90's. She played piano at Lockport Alliance Church for over 40 years. Lois was predeceased by her husband Richard in 1982.


Lois is survived by her daughter Linda Gardell and son Brian (Deborah) Gardell; sister of Endor (Gladys) Tosetto, Ulda Giordano and Esther Palma; also survived by several nieces and nephews.


There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 2nd at 3 PM in the Lockport Alliance Church, 555 Davison Rd., Lockport. Memorials to the Lockport Alliance Church Benevolent Fund, 555 Davison Rd., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
