To the Ellegate Family, My deepest sympathy to the entire family. I will cherish the memories of our days in the summer when we played softball and could find Jim keeping the stats. Always a smile and a laugh. Please know that I am thinking of all of you. Find strength in knowing that many of us in Oneonta have you in our thoughts at this time. God Bless.

To my friends Grace and Leah and the entire Ellegate family, my sympathy for you at this time is endless. I wish for you to be comforted by the many fabulous memories that you have of Jim, for that is something that you can keep forever in you hearts. I read something once that helped me through a bad time, written by someone much smarter than I and it was that death ends a life but not a relationship. In that context, he will live forever.

Julie and family, Our family is so deeply saddened by your loss. While our time and interactions with Jim were little, I do have a wonderful memory in my mind everytime I think of him...from Nicole's Open House for 1st grade, I watched how Nicole was beaming with excitement to share the picture of her entire family including animals (both old and new)with her Daddy. Jim bent right down next to her and beamed with the same excitement as he listened as though not another sound mattered as much as Nicole's. I remember that moment and I was so struck by the loving Daddy that he must have always been. Our thoughts and prayers have been with all of you and will be for many days to come. With deepest sympathy, The Draper family; Dana, Lisa, Delaney, Noah and Dawson

My deepest condolences go out to you, Julianne, and the kids. I was so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing Jim, or Gator as he was lovingly referred to, at Ernst & Young. He was a lot of fun and he made a mean calzone. My prayers and thoughts go out to you for healing and peace through this most difficult time.

Dear Julie and kids, We are thinking of you at this time and our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you. Although we only knew "Coach Jim " for a short time through RH Loyal football, we are honored that our son, Reed, was given the chance to know him. Watching Jim at practices and games you could easily see he was a kind and patient man. Reed would always have a smile on his face before, during and after football- We attribute that to the care of the wonderful coaches, like Jim. Coach Jim will be missed today and always and we will always be thankful that he was a part of our son's life. With love, The Albee Family- Todd, Colleen, Rielly, Reed and Remington.

Jim was a great man! He was smart, funny, and always seemed to have the right answers. He came to PAWS to help with the animals and take all of the homeless dogs for a run at the pond. When he walked in the door to the shelter, we all just had to smile! The kids are great with the animals and so much help. The kitties loved being held and snuggled. We will miss Jim, and hope the kids can still come to the shelter.
