Shirley Ann Taylor (nee Strong) passed away Friday March 5, 2010 in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, NY. Born September 24, 1931 in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Georgeanna Lane Strong. For 23 years Shirley ran the Breezeway Beauty Shop out of her Newfane Home. She loved her profession as a beautician. For the past 27 years, she was in the floristry business. In recent years she and her son, John, ran the Pallister House Florist in Newfane. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she loved her animals. Shirley is predeceased by her husband William "Jack" Taylor, who passed away April 30, 2004. She is also predeceased by her great granddaughter Brooke Hope Evangilist and her brother, Kenneth Strong.
Shirley was the mother of Jackie (Ken) Zastrow of Newfane, Tracy Taylor of Orlando, Fl., Terry (Marlin Jr.) Miller of Trappe, Pa., and John (Mitch) Taylor of Newfane. Grandmother of Ann Ehler of NC, Georgia Clark and Amy Cudney both of Ransomville, Jessica Miller, Marcie Evangilist and Marlin Miller III all of PA., and Jillian Ruby and Jackie Debes both of Fl; great grandmother of Chris, Brittany and Randy Clark, Shyanne and Olivia Ehler, Kenny and Kyle Cudney, and Tristan and Nicholas Vevasis. Shirley was the sister of Van Strong of Lockport and Sharon (James) Class of Bradford, NY. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service to be celebrated Monday at 11 AM, March 8th, in the Hess Road Wesleyan Church, 2514 Hess Road, Appleton, NY 14008. Memorials to the church would be appreciated by the family.
