Obituary of Rocci James Scirati

Rocci James Scirati passed away May 12, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on December 30, 1924 he was the son of Sisto and Rose (Murrie) Scirati. Rocci served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 being awarded the American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal-Three Stars, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon �" One Star. He worked for Harley G. Dieter General Contracting as a bricklayer, then worked 20 years at Walter P. Blimm Co. Rocci finished his career a master carpenter from 1969 to 1990 at Harrison Radiator. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, and was a very active Knight of Columbus Council 319 where he was both Grand Knight and Faithfull Navigator. Rocci enjoyed gardening, wood working and was both an avid reader and history buff.
Rocci was the loving husband of 64 years to Frances M. (Barone) Scirati of Lockport; the cherished father of his three daughters Roxanne (Richard) D'Attilio of Vestal, NY, Karen (Joseph) Schroeder of North Royalton, OH, and Paula (James Hermann) Scirati of Littleton, CO; beloved grandfather of Aaron J., Tyler C., and the late Cory J. Schroeder.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, May 16th from 9:30-10:30 AM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayer will be offered at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 AM in All Saints Parish Oratory, 391 Market St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
