Obituary of Ron Pichey

Rowland “Ron” Vincent Pichey passed away Saturday December 30, 2023 in Strong Memorial Hospital. Ron as he was affectionately known was born July 14, 1937 in Lockport, NY a son of Roy and Alice (Castille) Pichey. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954-1958. He was a Crib Attendant at Harrison Radiator for 37 years retiring in 1999. Ron was avid about fitness being a member of the YMCA  playing Racquetball,  Tennis, Handball, Running. His family called the “Y”  his second home and where he was known as “Director” when he would play racquetball. In the 1980’s Ron was in the top ten in NYS in Racquetball for his age group. In retirement he enjoyed golfing and hanging out at the Niagara County Golf Course where he helped others with their game.  Most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughters.

Rowland was predeceased by his wife Rosemary (Corriere) Pichey in January 5, 2002. He is survived by his children Ron Pichey, Jr., William “Billy” Pichey, Annette Mietlicki; granddaughters Melissa and Meghan Mietlicki; he was the brother to James, Joseph, Roy, Donna May, Teresa, Marion Pichey and Christina D’Amico.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
