Obituary of John A. Valenti

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John A. Valenti passed away on Wednesday August 23, 2017 in ECMC, Buffalo, NY. Born in Indiana, PA., he was the son of the late Angelo and Mary Simonik Valenti. He served in the Army from 1951 until 1953 during the Korean War. John retired in 1984 as a serviceman at Harrison Radiator after 30 years of service. After his retirement, John owned and operated Valenti's Archery in Lockport, and continued to run the archery shop up until his passing. John loved life and the outdoors. If he was not in his archery shop, he could always be found working in his vegetable garden, which was his pride and joy. John enjoyed all kinds of hunting and fishing in both the US and Canada, but especially enjoyed bowhunting. John loved being down at his hunting camp with his friends, and spent almost every day there during the fall. Although John didn't get out in the woods as much in his later years, he still enjoyed sitting around the camp stove, telling stories, and listening the tales of others. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his sister, Alvinia Rudnick; nephews, Edward J and Michael Rudnick and nieces, Mary K Rhoades and Judith A Brickner. Friends may call on Sunday August 27th, 2-4 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will immediately follow at 4 PM. Donations in lieu of flowers to Palliative Medicine, ECMC Foundation, 462 Grider St., Buffalo, NY 14215 or Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs, 702 Ridge Road, Lewiston, NY 14092.
