Franklin "Frank" T. Kydd passed away February 8, 2016 under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls on May 10, 1944 he was the son of James and Violet (Hiscock) Kydd. Frank served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1966 earning the National Defense Service Medal. He worked for Peter J. Schmitt Co. of Buffalo and Super Value where he was a merchandiser retiring in 2012. He enjoyed the outdoors, being in the yard, bird watching, was a fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. Frank's greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren and seeing the work ethic that he instilled in them. Frank is survived by his wife of 41 years M. Lucette (Piette) Kydd whom he married in 1973; father of Jeffrey (Amy) Kydd of NYC and Renee Brtalik of Harrisburg, PA; grandfather of Kendyl, Ashlyn, and LJ Brtalik; brother of James (Bert) Kydd of Crossville, TN, Albert (Arlene) Kydd of Moresville, NC and late William (the late Gerry) Kydd; several nieces, nephews, and several Piette family members. Relatives and friends may call Friday, Feb. 12th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 13th at 9 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.
