Helen R. Paulsen passed away October 8, 2015. Born in Lockport on December 11, 1934 she was the daughter of William and Anna Isabelle (Rainsberg) Dietz. Helen worked for 33 years with Niagara County Department of Social Services retiring in 1994 with the Fraud Unit. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband to the Caribbean, bowling having several 300 and 700 sets and especially loved spending time with her family. Helen was predeceased by her husband Michael Paulsen on August 8, 1994. Helen is survived by her two daughters Mary Ellen (Dennis) Stierer of Lockport and Lynn (Ernest) Mellas of Hamlin, NY; grandmother of Kristina, Jessica (Greg) Sterley, Michael John (Nicole) Mellas, and Marina (Nicholas) Thompson; great grandmother of Allison Sterley; sister of Bobby Dietz; and her cousin Linda Tabraham and dear friend Louis Molisani. Relatives and friends may call Monday, October 12th from 3-6 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 13th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
