Amelia Ann Godzisz passed away June 7th, 2014 in her home under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born November 10, 1919 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Louis and Sophia (Klos) Grendisa. Amelia worked for 28 years at Eastern Niagara Hospital (Lockport Memorial) retiring in 1985 as head housekeeper. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, was an avid NY Yankee fan, but her big joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Amelia is the wife of the late Stephen Godzisz who passed away in 1969; mother of Robert (Dolores) Godzisz, Joseph Godzisz both of Lockport, Paulette (William) Allen of Niagara Falls, NY and Susan (Rodney) Neubauer of Pendleton, NY; grandmother of Michael Godzisz, Stephanie (Jeff) Kline, Donna (Nick) Paschalides, Brian (Michelle) Neubauer and Marc Neubauer. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and is the sister of Cecelia (the late Fred) Sasiadek of Tonawanda, Anna (the late Frank) Godzisz, Helen (the late John) Fura both of Lockport, Stella (the late Ted) Newman of Barker and the late Leon Grendisa, Catherine Karlak, Mary Kyzmir and Thomas Grendisa. Amelia was also the beloved friend of the late George Armstrong and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Relatives and friends may call Thursday June 12, 2014, 3 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY where prayers will be Friday June 13, 2014 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in All Saints Church. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 in Amelia's memory would be appreciated by the family. <h3>Visitation</h3> Relatives and friends may call Thursday June 12, 2014, 3 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY where prayers will be Friday June 13, 2014 at 9:30 AM. <h3>Services</h3> A Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 13th to be celebrated at 10 AM in All Saints Church.
