Obituary of Ruth Craddock

Ruth A. Craddock passed away May 13, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on February 19, 1923 she was the daughter of Frederick D. Owens and Amy (Wheeler) Owens. As a young mother Ruth worked on and off, but her longest tenure was The Telephone Company. She retired from that position in 1988. Ruth was a lifelong active member of Christ Episcopal Church. She held many positions such as the altar guild, choir, lay-reader and Sunday school teacher to name a few. Ruth was honored by the United Way Volunteerism Committee as a VIVA (Very Important Volunteer Award) volunteering for Meals-On-Wheels, Niagara County Office of the Aging and the American Cancer Society.
Ruth was always happy to point out that she was one of a family of ten children. She was predeceased by sisters Genevieve, Dorothy and Florence and also by her brothers Frederick Jr., Edward, James, Kenneth, Douglas and George. She is survived by her children Sandra, William Jr. and David. She is also survived by many grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 18th at 11 AM in Christ Episcopal Church, Fieldcrest Drive and Rochester Road, Lockport.
