Obituary of Maria Jones

Maria J. Jones passed away Saturday April 20, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Hoboken, Antwerp, Belgium on November 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Eduard and Clemence Van Buul Roef. Maria worked as a production worker for Norton Laboratories, and as a Lunchroom Monitor at John E. Pound School. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Joseph's Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and reading.
Maria is survived by her husband of 67 years, Philip W. Jones; mother of Edward S. (Cheryl) Jones of Sanborn, Maria "Mimi" C. (Nancy) Jones of Getzville, Linda F. (Douglas) Vincent of Lockport, Sandra J. (Robert) Bobzien of Lockport and Philip W. (Geri) Jones, Jr. of Wilson. Maria is also survived by 35 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Sister of Florentine Roef-Arnolds of Tongeren, Belgium, and the late Francis, Louis and John Roef.
Friends may call Tuesday 4 to 8 PM, in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning in All Saints Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport at 11 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
