Obituary of Jean Buerger

Jean Mae Buerger passed away Saturday February 23, 2013, in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Buffalo on July 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude Golnick Helmke. Jean was very involved in Mount Olive Lutheran Church, with the Altar Guild, she also was involved with the Junior Service League and the Garden Club. Jean is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul T. Buerger, whom she married on June 28, 1947. Beside her husband, Jean is survived by her children, Paul T. Buerger Jr., James E. (Linda J.) Buerger, John T. Buerger, Christine A. Buerger-Sokal, Sharon J. (Thomas F.) Hewner and Mary E. (Gregory H.) Cranford. Jean is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and daughter in-law, Barbara Buerger. She is predeceased by her son, Peter M. Buerger. Friends may call Monday February 25th 4-8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 10AM in Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6965 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport, NY.
