Rocco Gabriel Orsini peacefully entered into rest with our Lord on February 9, 2013 at the New York State Veteran's Home in Oxford, New York. Born April 12, 1921 in Niagara Falls, N.Y, he was the son of Nicholas and Donata Orsini. He was a member of Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Lockport, NY. He supported the church in many ways and was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a past Commander of LaSalle Yacht Club in Niagara Falls, NY and was also an officer and member of the Swiftwater Power Squadron. He was an active member of the Woodcarvers Association of Niagara County, and a member of the Carpenters Union. Mr. Orsini was a veteran of World War II. He served the majority of his time as Aviation Machinist 1st Class for the United States Navy stationed in Brazil, South America. He spent his working career as a home builder and woodworker building many homes in the Lockport area. Rocco enjoyed boating, wood carving, camping and spending time with his family the most. Rocco was predeceased by his wife Mary Rose, three sisters, Lena Manfredi, Patricia Moletto, and Minnie Costanger. He is survived by two loving daughters Rosemary (Tom) Vasko of Stokesdale, NC and Donna (Carl) Crane of Binghamton, NY. He is the cherished Grandfather of Michelle Vasko-Sparks of New Orleans, LA, Tara (Vasko)Cassetty of Stokesdale, NC, Carey (Crane) Shanley of Lockport, NY, Frank Crane of Tampa, FL, Thomas Vasko III of Wyandotte, MI and Andrew Vasko of Stokesdale, NC. Great-grandfather of Lauren and Benjamin Shanley both of Lockport NY, Madeline Rose and Carson Cassetty both of Stokesdale, NC, William Calhoun , Rocco Gabriel and Emmett Grey Vasko of Wyandotte, MI. Rocco is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, Feb. 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Saturday, Feb. 16th at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 AM in All Saints Parish Oratory, 391 Market St., Lockport. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
