Obituary of Almeda Salmeri

Almeda (Connie) Salmeri passed away on February 2, 2013 in Mills River, North Carolina where she resided. She was born August 7, 1925 to William and Edna (Emmons) Conrad in Mt. Morris, NY. She later moved to Lockport with her family and attended school there. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. Connie married Patsy T. Salmeri (died June 24, 1989) on August 2, 1947. She is survived by her children: Beth (Michael) Cassidy, Bette (Ron) Moats, Carl (Sheryn) Salmeri and Charles (Laurie) Salmeri. Connie is also survived by her siblings, Gail Sears, James Dempsey and a sister-in-law, Josephine Sansone. Connie enjoyed her lively, loving family, which included five granddaughters, three grandsons, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Connie began work at Lockport Memorial Hospital as a Nursing Assistant in 1967. She attended Trott Vocational and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked until her retirement in June 1996. After she retired, she enjoyed volunteering for many organizations including Meals On Wheels, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, and Lockport Memorial Hospital Women's Guild. She enjoyed bowling on leagues and working for the Niagara County Board of Elections. Connie's loving and generous heart and her wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by family and friends. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Feb. 7th 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 8th at 10 AM.
