Obituary of Verlie Rose

Verlie G. Rose went to the Lord at Eastern Niagara Hospital on January 25, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 27, 1937 in Camden on Gauley West Virginia.

She was the daughter of Elza and Gladie Short. Verlie was employed at Korffs Furniture Store, and retired from Harrison Radiator. She loved to work in her garden, and enjoyed writing songs and poetry.

She and others frequently performed music that she had written, and her music touched many people, through her music she made many life long friendships.

She married her beloved husband David J. Rose on September 14, 1957.

Together they had three children, Kenneth (Nam) Rose, Michele (Joseph) Parente and Marsha (Anthony) Sperduti. She had six cherished grandchildren, David Rose, Samantha (Keith) Reichard, Jacqueline and Allison Parente, and Lucas and Jackson Sperduti. And one great granddaughter Lula Reichard. Verlie is also survived by her sisters and brother Lovis Heal, Arlene (Charlene) Short, Wanda (James) Steblein and Wilda (Peter) Schultz and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday 1 to 3 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
