Obituary of Helen Villella

Helen J. Villella passed away Thursday November 1, 2012 in Odd Fellows and Rebekah Health Care Center. Born in Lockport on April 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Angeline Stranges Villella. Helen was a secretary at Harrison Radiator for 30 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, where she volunteered in the office and taught church school. Helen also volunteered at the gift shop in Lockport Memorial Hospital, assisted in the cafeteria at DeSales, was a lunch monitor at Anna Merritt School and was one of the original owners of Widewaters Snack Bar. Helen was the sister of Rose Marvin and Angeline Devereaux, both of Lockport, and the late Joseph, Peter, Fred, Angelo and John Villella, Jennie Morello, Mary Chapman and Mildred Oxley. Helen is also survived by her devoted niece, Patricia Thompson, special nephew, Todd McKeever and her very special niece, the late Joanne McKeever and her dear friend, Donna Eick and sister in-law Doris Villella, she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 3rd 2012 at 12 noon in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.
