Obituary of Gordon Crane

Gordon D. "Corky" Crane passed away October 28, 2009 under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born February 1, 1924 in Lockport he was the son of Kenneth and Hester (Bingham) Crane. Corky worked as an Assistant Manager for Acme Grocery and retired from Bells after 35 years in 1989. He was a member of the Masons and enjoyed gardening and painting.
Corky is survived by his wife of 54 years Betty J. (Ryan) Crane of Appleton; father of Gary (Alice) Towner of Alabama, Debra (James) Grimm, Gail Placido both of Pennsylvania, Cheryl (Mark Udell) Crane, Esther Neff and Dennis Crane all of Lockport; also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother of Betty (late Bill) Mitchell of Newark, NY and the late Jean (Red) Lederhouse; brother-in-law of Dorothy (late Robert) Vigrass, Pat (late Shirley) Ryan, Audrey (Wayne) Burgess, Winifred (Fay) Heschke, Mary (Junior) Caldwell, Charlotte (late Pat) Patrick, Donald (Judy) Ryan, Anna (Robert) Heschke, Florence (Herb) Kolbe, Dawn (late Raymond) Coyle and the late Geraldine & Ernest Winters; son-in-law of Pete & Winifred Ryan; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
