Obituary of Emmett Raskopf

Emmett J. Raskopf formerly of Cambria, passed away September 13, 2012 in the Santa Rita Nursing & Rehab Facility, Green Valley, AZ. Born July 18, 1923 in Cambria, NY he was the son, of John. J. and Pearl (Rubeck) Raskopf. Emmett worked for Harrison Radiator where he was a Senior Drafting Checker. He served for 20 years for the Town of Cambria, as Town Justice and a member of the Town Board. Emmett served as a Republican Committeeman for the Town of Cambria. A past member and Treasurer of the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co. of Cambria and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #319. Emmett was predeceased by his wife Janelle (Coughlin) Raskopf on October 14, 2006.
Emmett is survived by his children Linda A. (Richard) Groves of Lockport and Wendon
"John" (Ann) Raskopf of Olcott; grandfather of Nathan John (Helen) Raskopf of Zebulon, NC and Adina Marie (William) Neuman of Auburn, NY; great grandfather of Eleanor Francis, Gordon Oliver Raskopf, Maggie Brantley, Clara Elizabeth and Emily Marie Neuman; brother-in-law of Michael J. Coughlin of Tonawanda; uncle of one niece and two nephews; also his caregiver William "Billy" Myers.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, September 22 from 11 am - 12 Noon in All Saints Parish at St. Mary's Church, 5 Saxton St., Lockport where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Saturday. Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery. Donations to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049 or to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
