Donna C. Eggert of Alden, NY lost her courageous battle with cancer on August 31, 2012. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by the love of her family which provided end of life care. Born in Buffalo, NY on May 5, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ruth (Menard) Dennis.

Donna graduated from Kensington High School and worked for 23 years as an aide in the U-Crest Elementary School Library. She loved the children at U-Crest and considered each of them special. Donna dearly missed them after her retirement from the Maryvale School District in 2001. She was a devout member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Donna also enjoyed playing the piano and traveling with her husband.

Donna is survived by her beloved husband Donald, of 57 years; loving mother of Lawrence (Marea), Dennis (Cindy), and Paul (Gene) Eggert. Her eight grandchildren, Meredith, Thomas, Jon, Kelsey, Alyssa, Ali, Isabelle and Louiza were her pride and joy. Donna is also survived by her brother Paul (Gail) Dennis, and is the cherished aunt of the families of Ben Dennis and Michele Tinge.

The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM in St. Luke Lutheran Church, 900 Maryvale Dr., Cheektowaga, NY where funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM.
