Frank A. Westgate, of Lockport, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 25, 2012 at his residence. Born in the Town of Lockport, April 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Frederick Westgate and Ethel (Wagoner) Randall. Frank retired from the Operating Engineers, Local 463 in 1998 after 40 years. Upon his retirement he took a 6 month road trip to Alaska and for many years Frank traveled around the US extensively. He enjoyed taking Sunday rides with his wife, getting together with friends at the coffee shop, working with his hands doing home remodeling and gardening. Frank is survived by his wife, of 41 years, Sue (Alexander) Westgate of Lockport; stepdaughters Darlene Lohnas of Lockport, and Rebecca (Stephen) Mesler of North Carolina; grandchildren Danielle, Jessica, and Trey Lohnas, of Lockport, Luther Hagga and BillieJo Coffman of North Carolina; sister Barbara (late Lee) Capen of Lockport; several nieces and nephews. Frank's wishes were to donate his body to the University of Buffalo. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
