Myrtle L. Root of Lockport, NY passed away August 19, 2012, in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born April 3, 1919 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Leon and Ila (Albee) Salisbury. Myrtle worked for several years as a clerk at the Florsheim Shoe Store and also worked briefly at The Sample and Montgomery Wards stores. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her cherished grandchildren. Myrtle was the wife of the late George N. Root, Sr. who passed away February 16th 1998; mother of George N. Root, Jr., Marcelene Hendrick both of Lockport and the late Dennis Root and Wayne Rutland; grandmother of Paula (Randy) Vinson, George N. Root, III, Tammy (Denny) Root, Laura (Scott) Alexander, Richard Root and Russell Rutland; great-grandmother of Alicia Alexander, Nick Hawkins, Karie Hawkins, Robbie Vinson and Marea Root Elking and great great-grandmother of Alekzis Wilkosz. There will be no prior visitation. There will be no prior visitation.
