Obituary of Carlton Monson

Carlton L. Monson passed away suddenly July 29, 2012. Born in West Seneca on June 5, 1946, son of Clarence L. and Mildred (Turner) Monson. He served in the US Army from 1965-1968 earning the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Parachute Badge. Carlton worked for 30 years with the US Army Corp of Engineers where he was a small craft survey boat operator and was awarded the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service. He enjoyed bowling, riding his motorcycle, was a member of the Niagara Hogs and volunteered for Make-A-Wish. Husband for 35 years to Darlean (Sutliff) Monson of Lockport; father of Maureen Monson; dear friend Joel and Marsha Kral and Jerome and Cathy Mominee. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, Aug. 1st 2-4 and 6-7:30 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will immediately follow at 7:30 PM. Donations to Make-A-Wish or to Roswell Park Cancer Alliance c/o Breast Cancer Research. <h3>Visitation</h3> Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, Aug. 1st 2-4 and 6-7:30 PM. <h3>Services</h3> Funeral services will immediately follow on Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
